Welcome! Welcome to Hogwarts!
GENERAL SITE RULES
The administrators of Spellbound will make any necessary adjustments that are believed to be best for the site, and that may include immediate banning. If you have any questions and/or concerns please feel free to PM an admin.
CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT/NAMING
Choosing your name is often the most difficult decision. In order to provide a bit of help, we recommend Behind the Name. The site offers derivative, meaning, and origin of many names, both First, and Last. An alternative we'd recommend is Nameberry.
The Display Name must be that of your Character's First and Last name only.
To do this: log in, go to your user profile, click on Modify Profile, change the display name, and save settings. Please do not leave additional spaces after your name. Your username (the thing you log in with) can be whatever you want, but for the sake of easy tagging, make it short (less than 10 characters) and east to spell. Thanks!
FIGHTING
We do not encourage OOC (Out Of Character) fighting. If you wish to vent to a member of this site, please do so using the PMs. Any venting, arguing, or fighting in the CBOX will result in a warning of the instigator. Further violations will result in banning.
SWEARING
Please try to keep it to a minimum on the site. We do want to make it comfortable for everyone. Just like fighting, warnings will be given for excessive swearing, even if it is a part of your character.
CBOX
The CBOX is the real-time general discussion area for site members. We reserve the right to ban people for any acts that we deem inappropriate (including bullying, lewdness, or sexually charged material). We will investigate all incidents of this and punishments will be based on each individual case. Please be aware children can see the CBOX as well as new members, it is not attractive for the site to have inappropriate behavior in the CBOX.
OOC LOUNGE
The OOC Lounge is a place for members to break out of their RP characters and just talk to each other as their real life selves. But there are a few very simple rules to follow to keep things on the up-and-up:
Do not give other members your personal information
Keep everything at a PG-13 level. If it is higher than PG-13, then it doesn't belong anywhere on this site.
Be respectful to other members on this site. Please understand that not everyone may have the same opinion or point of view as you.
Use common sense in what you post in here.
[/ul]If there are issues with members or content in the OOC boards, please contact a member of the Head Staff via PM as soon as possible.
And just remember to have fun!
SPAMMING
There will be no spamming on this site either in the CBOX, thread or via PM. If you are caught spamming you will be given one warning. If you continue to spam, you will be banned.
GRAPHICS
Graphics are allowed for your character, however if they are messy, contain inappropriate words or images, or stretch the site we will request you to take them down. Signature sizes need to be kept to 525 (width) x 300 (height). Those who have too large of graphics will be removed. Avatars can be no larger than 200 (width) x 500 (height). Images for/created by this site are not to be stolen/used on any other. If you did not create the image you are using, credit who did.
SITE EVENTS & ACTIVITY
During the site's life, there will be moments where we will host Site Events. Those key characters involved in Event Threads must remain active during the progression of the Site Event. If your character is included in a Site Event and you go inactive in anyway, the admins reserve the right to create a Substitute Player for your character. This Substitute Player will continue playing your character for the duration of the Site Thread and/or Site Event. Should you return from the absence, you must accept all conditions that the Substitute has put your character in (they will, of course, keep within the plots that you have created prior to the Site Event and/or Site Thread). You will be given 1 week to remain active, after which the admins will make the decision of how to approach the issue. This is done to keep the site plots moving and the story progressing, it is entirely unethical for you to take on a major character, participate in a Site Event and/or Site Thread, and then go inactive. We, of course, understand that real life must take precedence. If you plan on being inactive for any reason, fill out the Absentee Application.
ADMIN DISCLAIMER
Please be aware that the admins reserve the right to question anything about your participation at this site. If we feel that your student character is using magic far beyond their ability, we will tell you to tone things down. We do not tolerate Mary Sues or Gary Stus in any form. We will PM you with anything that we might have an issue with and we will be civil and respectful; we only ask that you be the same towards us.
